God has explicitly called me to be “a bearer of hope and joy” – as a Minister of the Uniting Church since 1992, an Aged Care Chaplain with Uniting from 2009-2022, and as a Supervisor. I have completed four 400-hour units of Clinical Pastoral Education in both Hospital and Mental Health. I hold a Bachelor of Theology, a Masters of Chaplaincy, a Diploma in Dementia Care, and a Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision.

I have supervised Uniting and Anglican and Pentecostal Church Ministers, Hospital Chaplains, lay Pastoral Carers, Pastoral Practitioners from Uniting, and Students.
I am a member of the NSW College of Clinical Pastoral Education, Spiritual Care Australia, and the Australasian Association of Supervision.
I live on the Central Coast of NSW. I am available for face-to-face and online Supervision.
Hope and joy in Supervision awaits you!

I have been in pastoral ministry for over 40 and a chaplain for 35 years within Army, Hospitals and Defence prisons. I am Clinical Pastoral Educator with the NSW College of CPE and hold an MA in Pastoral Supervision. I train and supervise Chaplains/Pastoral Care Practitioners in a variety of ministry contexts. I am accredited with NSWCCPE and AAOS. I have particular interest in ministry outside the church context and end of life. My mode of supervision is a strengths-based model within an Action/Reflection framework which helps those in pastoral ministry to explore their practice in a safe and collegial environment. Our focus centres on matters you bring to the supervision session. I have a small number of time slots available and welcome your enquiries.

Given his diverse workplace history and training background, James feels very at home with leaders and those in Christian ministry. He’s been working in training colleges, parachurch org’s and school contexts for 15 years. James finds himself coming alive when investing in people’s lives – one on one or in small group settings – and manages to balance encourage and challenge somewhat seamlessly.
James is himself visual learner and someone who enjoys music, so he likes working with sounds, images and other creative ways to explore issues. But if that doesn’t float your boat, you can stay well away from all that.
