Kathy Armour
Kathy warmly welcomes all those who work in helping professions into the supervision space regardless of your level of experience, culture or beliefs.
Kathy believes that professional pastoral supervision holds benefits for everyone who is willing to engage in reflective practice for their own well-being and growth. Engaging in supervision also benefits those we serve. Kathy aims to provide a warm and supportive supervision space both in person and online. She is compassionate and willing to continue to learn and grow herself in order to support each person she supervises.
Kathy has had 24 years of experience in the helping professions including education, children/family ministry in Christian churches and has worked as a chaplain in both the hospital and school environments. Much of this work has been in multicultural settings. Kathy has also had experience going to her own supervision over those years and continues to experience the many benefits herself. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Education (primary), Bachelor of Theology, a CPE unit and a Grad Cert in Supervision for the Helping Professions.
Supervision is both a confidential and sacred space for supervisees to discuss their work, reflect on challenges, celebrate successes, and gain new insights. Supervision allows for reflection and discussion which can inspire change in perspective with the aim to flourish in the workplace.
The vision for my business, Inspired Change came from a passion for helping people in all walks of life to seek, discover and grow in their personal strength to be better equipped for whatever they are doing in life. Drawing on 20 years’ experience in a variety of settings, I’ve learnt that meaningful change emerges from personal exploration, self-discovery and understanding. By engaging in conversation and reflecting on experiences, we can all reach those “aha” moments and turn them into life transforming change.
My professional and pastoral experience includes child and family counselling, supervision of other counsellors and facilitation of programs such as Circle of Security Parenting (and Circle of Security Parenting – Educators), Tuning in to Teens and the Rock and Water Program. I am an author of two children’s books on the topic of anxiety and one on grief. I have delivered community education and talks on anxiety, self-care and a variety of other topics. For the past eight years I have loved being a primary school chaplain, supporting children, parents and school staff with their wellbeing.
