After journeying through severe burnout in 2014, he has conducted qualitative research to quantify ideal Christian Leader Health and develop pathways to well-being. This outfits him to build resilience and aid revitalisation.

The Verve Lead team consults with movements, develops mentors and provides mentoring and professional supervision to executive, global, and local Christian leaders.
Don’s Forty-Five years of ministry experience includes church planting and ordained ministry in traditional and Pentecostal churches. His roles as Senior Minister (31 yrs) and ten years on the national executive position him to understand the complexities and pressures of ministry.

Gary works online and offers developmental supervision – supervision with a developmental approach.
In today’s world we grapple with VUCA + A : volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity + acceleration. We can experience this as stress, disruption & overwhelm and loose our sense of agency.
Developmental supervision supports us by offering a conversational space to explore our work, projects and aspirations away from the coal-face and it works like this:
1. The supervisee shares their workplace goals or aspirations. These become the basis of meetings.
2. The focus of the meeting is always driven by the supervisee, who may refine or change the goals.
3. Monthly ‘take away’ reflective thinking tools are offered as a supportive, developmental resource.
“ Research shows the single biggest cause of work burnout is not work overload, but working too long without experiencing our own personal development” – ‘An Everyone Culture’ – Keegan and Lahey.
Gary has been a clerk, soldier, construction worker, barman, gardener, pastor, aged care chaplain, coach and supervisor. He loves the outdoors and does beach and bush 4×4 driving and camping.
Current study is in the area of Cross-Professional supervision with IPSRP in the UK.
Current focus is on coaching groups around men’s identity and functioning
His post-graduate work at Fuller Seminary USA was in the area of disruption.
Last adventure: 4×4 driving and camping from Sydney to Perth and return.
My work is resourced via AAOS, IPSRP and the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital Boston, part of Harvard Medical School.
