I have 30+ years experience in the field of family and social services as a social worker, counsellor in the area of marriage and family relationships and recovery from trauma and childhood sexual abuse, and supervisor to counsellors, students and those in pastoral ministry. I am a very experienced professional with a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience. My work in faith based organisations has given me additional experience in the pastoral dimension of social services and a unique social justice perspective. I believe in the ability of people to adapt, change and make choices and so I work from a strengths based perspective and a philosophy of hope. This enables people to discover their own strengths and know what is possible

As a CPE supervisor since 2008, I have enjoyed accompanying individuals and groups as they reflect on their ministry, improve their pastoral practice and grow in self-compassion. In addition, I bring my history of: a rural farming childhood; a career as a secondary school teacher; being a wife and mother; volunteering as a hospital chaplain since 2004. I strive to supervise clients in hospitable ways so that hidden motivations are safe to examine, integration occurs between what one thinks, feels and does, and transformation of self and professional practice is possible. I employ a wide variety of supervisory modalities in both group and individual supervision, as learned and developed through completion of Dip Cross Professional Supervision, and Diploma of Group Supervision through IPSRP.

My role as your supervisor is to create a space for you to explore with God the various aspects of your life that come to your attention in the context of your daily life, ministry, and circumstances. Choosing well, listening attentively, humbly growing in response to the blessings and bruising you encounter is an exciting journey of trust in our God of grace.
I count it a privilege to be invited to walk alongside for a season and support you in your formation. My journey in ministry, missions and serving in leadership roles has been a rich source of lessons learned and yes, often in the most difficult of situations. I haven’t always done it right, or exceptionally well. But God has provided faithful mentors in my life to help me find a way forward, start again, gather new courage and never give up. That’s what my supervision will do for you. Let’s get started.
